Back to School Contest Winners

Local Students Explain Why Education is Important

 August 20, 2021 – Dozens of students expressed the importance of education through words, video, and art as they participated in our first Back to School contest.

Earlier this month, The Garriga Law Firm launched its “Why is Education Important to Me?” contest for students K-12th grades. The contest was open to all West Texas Students. Out of the submitted entries, 9 were chosen as winners.

The contest was broken down into three categories: Elementary (K-6th), Junior High (7th – 9th), and High School (10th – 12th). Each category had three winners. 1st place won a $500 gift card. 2nd place won a $250 gift card. 3rd place won a $100 gift card.

Elementary

  • 1st Place – Druscilla Galindo
  • 2nd Place – Ezequiel Castillo
  • 3rd Place – Angel Marie Carrillo 

Junior High

  • 1st Place – Ariella McGuire
  • 2nd Place – Anthony McGuire
  • 3rd Place – Ella McCaw

High School

  • 1st Place – Adrian Casias
  • 2nd Place – Alinda “Lola” Abila
  • 3rd Place – Jusseth Galindo
